Priority access for volunteers – All Stars & Dynamos 2026
Minster Lovell Cricket Club are pleased to confirm that All Stars, Boys Dynamos and Girls Dynamos will return on Friday evenings from 8 May, running for 10 weeks at Wash Meadow.
Important: priority places for volunteers
General registration opens on 19 March and sessions are expected to sell out quickly. We can offer guaranteed All Stars and Dynamos places via a priority registration window to any child whose parent or guardian volunteers as an Activator or helps support sessions (including the BBQ) across the programme.
Programme overview
All Stars Cricket is for children aged 5–8. This fun, activity-based programme is suitable for all skill levels and focuses on building confidence, making friends and developing a lifelong love of cricket in a safe, supportive environment.
Dynamos Cricket is for boys and girls aged 8–11. Each week focuses on developing core cricket skills, confidence and game understanding. We are delighted to see many of our Dynamos progress into Under 11 hardball cricket at the club.
Volunteers needed
All sessions are run entirely by volunteers. With the introduction of Girls Dynamos, we are actively seeking additional volunteers, including a coach to help lead the girls’ section. The number of children we can safely accommodate each Friday is strictly limited by ECB-required ratios of coaches, DBS holders and first aiders.
The Activator role
The primary role of an All Stars / Dynamos Activator is to support gameplay, lead warm-ups and help coordinate activities alongside parents and other volunteers.
Cricket knowledge is helpful but not essential, and you do not need to be a qualified coach. What matters most is energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help children enjoy sport. You will be fully supported by an experienced team of coaches and activators with many years’ experience delivering All Stars and Dynamos programmes.
What we’ll support you with
To deliver the programme safely and in line with ECB guidance, we will work with you to ensure that:
You hold an ECB-approved enhanced DBS
You attend a face-to-face Activator training session and complete online e-learning
You complete the Safeguarding for Coaches and Activators course
