March Newsletter

This website moves into its second year and now totally replaces the fixture booklet which we have now retired. The information on this website is dynamically updated with news, fixtures and results , and allows us to provide links to the websites of our generous sponsors. We hope this will also attract new sponsors whose details we can add to the website.

Some good news to share with you - we have appointed new groundsmen to manage our wickets at our two home grounds. Paddy Daniel will look after Wash Meadow and Nick Angus will look after Brize Norton. A warm welcome to both as they prepare our wickets for the new season.

Our costs are rising annually . and while we endeavour to keep playing cricket affordable, we are always looking for new sponsors. The likelihood is that any new sponsors will come from the local area within Minster Lovell and surrounding towns and villages. We would also ask all our members to reach out to their families and friends or maybe the company you work for to see if there is a sponsorship opportunity they would be interested in subscribing to. Please reach out to us by contacting Olly Mersh on 07538 931404 or info@minsterlovellcricket.co.uk to see how we can work with you. For as little as £120 per season we can add your company details to our website.

An easy way of raising funds for the club is by registering for Easy Funding. By following one simple setup all your online purchases with participating organisations will generate a donation to the cricket club. We raised around £500 in 2025 and would at least like to double this amount in 2026. Weekly shopping and holidays are popular purchases which contribute to this amount.
There is a link to Easy Funding now on our website.

Friday will continue to be family night at Minster Lovell in 2026. From May 8th onwards our All Stars and Dynamos run for 10 weeks, and our inclusive Lions run for the whole summer. This year we have the addition of our Girls Dynamos sessions. Other Fridays will include T20 friendlies and our popular Minster Cup events. The BBQ and Bar will be open each Friday and we are open to any sponsors who would like to put their name to any of the Friday family night events or activities at Wash Meadow. How about sponsoring the barbecue for example.

Other sponsorship opportunities for 2026 are to support the cost of new wicket covers. which will be arriving shortly. The cover surfaces have 6 large visible panels on which we can display your logo or details. Our old covers are available to any club who would like to take them off our hands, please contact us on info@minsterlovellcricket.co.uk if you are interested.

We are actively recruiting a female head coach to oversee our new girls cricket offering . First task here is to oversee the Friday night girls dynamos sessions and to coach teams in OCB softball festivals. We are also looking to recruit more activators to support our all stars and dynamos sessions These are ideal roles for parents who would like to volunteer and all training is provided.

Our Cherwell League fixtures .youth and friendly fixtures are now available on this website and we still await our Wilf Bennett and Girls fixtures
